Bereavement group, Wednesday 28th May

The bereavement group meets the last Wednesday in the month at the parish hall for 2.30pm.

First meeting of the new PCC
The next meeting of the PCC will be 22nd May at 7.30pm in the Parish Hall.

Social team.
The social team are looking for more volunteers - you don’t have to be involved in every event or even the whole of one event, but every little helps, so if you are able to be involved in anything such as planning, design, decorating, cooking, baking, bar work please let us know, we’d love you to join us! Restorative South Bath

Christian Aid Week

Christian Aid week continues until Sunday 19th May. We are continuing to support them in all their work to help alleviate poverty across the globe. If you haven’t already done so, please take an envelope for donations and place your offering in the wooden charity box.

“The London Handel Players are hugely looking forward to returning to St. John’s for two more recording projects of mid-18th-century music in June. The first is of ‘Paris’ quartets for flute, violin, viola da gamba and continuo by Telemann and the second is of virtuoso violin concertos by the first great solo violinist of France, Jean-Marie Leclair.

RNLI quiz night, St Johns Parish hall

St Johns Wives,
St Johns wives will meet next on Monday 3rd June, St Johns parish hall 2.00pm

First Communions
As is our usual practice at St Johns we are looking forward to welcoming children to receive first communion on the Patronal Festival Joint Service on the 23rd of June 2024 at 10am. We usually welcome children to receive their first communion once there are in Yr3 or above (aged 7). If you would like you child to be part of this, please have a word with Chris to find out what is involved. If you are interested there is a Sheet at the back of Church to put your details so we can plan the service.

If you are an adult and are looking towards being confirmed, our next local confirmation will be at Waltham Abbey on the 13th of October at 4pm, if you would like to be confirmed please have a word with Chris.

Will Moore.
Chris went to see our curate to be last week at his college in Cambridge. He is excited to be joining us. His ordination to the Diaconate will be on 8th September 2024 at Chelmsford Cathedral. He will move to Loughton over the summer.
