Food Bank

Hello Supporter!

It is now the beginning of planning for Harvest celebrations across Epping Forest. As we approach this Autumn season and celebration of Harvest, our food bank services will not only become elevated, but it will be relied on to feed many across the district.

Clients will not only be facing a rise in general household bills and essentials with the cost of living crisis, however they will also be facing a hike in gas and electricity bills to keep warm, a hike in fuel costs due to commuting in the wet and cold, families needing to ensure that their children are warm, with warm clothes. All, requiring a priority for finances to be utilised, making that vital decision between warmth, working, healthy children and food.

No one should make the decision to chose between warmth, or food.

No child should be faced with a cold home and hungry bellies.

At Epping Forest Foodbank, every year we face a consistent rise in clients needing to use our service. In the last financial year, we provided food parcels to over 7,281 people.

During the summer school holidays, we successfully supported 149 families, with a total of 1,220 people fed.

Because of the continuous rise in demand as well as a projection that we will see more clients requiring our support in these few months, our stocks are now running empty, meaning we will run out of food to support those going hungry. We are appealing for as many people as possible to run collections for the Harvest Festival.
