End of School Term
We wish all those that have now broken up from school a restful summer. Lets hope the sun shines!
Family Eucharist
The Family Eucharist will continue through August but there will not be a Sunday school, however some activities and crafts will be provided for some of our younger members.
Choir Practice
The choir will have a break throughout the summer and will be back practising again on Friday 6th September. The clergy wish them a restful and relaxing summer.
Will and Georgie’s Arrival in Loughton
Will and Georgie have moved in and are very thankful for their hamper. Although he has been licensed as lay worker he will not start work properly till after his ordination as Deacon Bishop Guli will be welcomed to the diaconate on Sunday 8th September 2024 at 4.30pm in Chelmsford Cathedral. Everyone would be welcome. We look forward to getting to know him over the next few weeks and months.
Church Online
We will not be able to provide such a comprehensive online service during August. The services that will be streamed are:
4th August – 8am BCP Holy Communion
11th August – 9.30 Sung Eucharist
Back to normal service on the 18th August.

Restorative Sound Bath
We look forward to welcoming back Flow and Roam to hold another restorative sound bath on the 11th of August 2024 at 7.30pm. For more details and get a ticket call Ren at 07835 539442.
Social events
The social team are currently busy planning and organising the next set of events including the Harvest Barn dance to be held in the parish hall on Saturday 21st September, details to follow. If you can spare some time to help volunteer, please do contact Sam Davies on loughtonstjohns@gmail.com.
Confirmation.
Bishop Adam will be presiding over a service of confirmation in Waltham Abbey on the 13th of October at 4pm. Several of you have talked to me about your wish to be confirmed. Could you please put your name down on the list at the back of church? We will be undertaking a short course of preparation in September and October in the parish hall. On the 15th of September 22nd, September 29th, September and the 6th of October.
